Kronshtadt

Kronstadt is a port city that has been the main naval base of the Baltic Fleet since the XVIII century. There is the largest Naval Cathedral in Russia, the historical park «Island of Forts» and the museum of the lighthouse service. From the shore there is a view of the Gulf of Finland, lighthouses and forts.

How to get to?

By bus: Route bus No. 101 departs from the underground station Staraya Derevnya, you need to get off at the stop Grazhdanskaya Street. Travel time is just over an hour.

Repino

People come to Repino for beautiful sunsets and picnics on the bay shore. There is a museum in the «Penaty» manor, where the artist Ilya Repin lived. On the territory there are ponds, an artesian well, as well as a wooden gazebo with an observation deck. After the museum, go to lunch at the restaurant «Nasha Dacha», which occupies the restored building of the pre-revolutionary dacha.

By train: The electric train departs from the Finland station. Travel time is 44 minutes.

By bus: Buses to Repino depart from several underground stations: Parnas, Grazhdansky Prospekt, Ploshchad Lenina, Chernaya Rechka, Staraya Derevnya. Travel time — from 50 minutes.

Strelna

Since the beginning of the XVIII century, tsars and grand dukes of the Russian Empire have lived in Strelna. Since then, the Petroff Palace of Peter the Great has been preserved here — it has a museum. Now the residence of the president is also located in the village — there are guided tours. Strelna has a park with a Gothic tower and an ancient river dam.

By train: The electric train departs from the Baltic station. Travel time is about 30 minutes.

By bus: Buses to Strelna depart from several underground stations: Avtovo, Prospekt Veteranov, Baltiyskaya, Kirovsky Zavod.

Duderhof

Duderhof is the historical district of Krasnoye Selo. Here you can stroll through the mountain park, have a picnic with a view of the lake and wander through the abandoned Ingermanland cemetery.

How to get to?

By train: The electric train to the Mozhaiskaya station departs from the Baltic Station. Travel time is about 40 minutes. The last return train on the weekend departs at 22:23.

Komarovo

Komarovo is a settlement on the Karelian Isthmus, where the St. Petersburg intelligentsia has been resting since tsarist times. Here you can admire the wooden houses of the beginning of the XX century, walk along the nature trail in the pine forest and look into the «booth» where Anna Akhmatova lived.

How to get to?

By train: Electric trains to Komarovo depart from the Finland station. The travel time is about 50 minutes.

By bus: Bus 211 from Chernaya Rechka, route taxi L-305 from Staraya Derevnya, Bus K-400 Ploshchad Lenina.

Vsevolozhsk

In Vsevolozhsk you can explore the manor with a forge on the shore of the pond and the scientific town where Academician Pavlov worked, and also walk through the park with 100-year-old oaks. There are also sand hills and coniferous forest.

By bus: Buses to Vsevolozhsk depart from Ladozhskaya underground station.

Gatchina

Gatchina is a popular destination for out-of-town trips, while there are many places that tourists do not know about. Admire the wooden Art Nouveau buildings, explore the castle of the Knights of Malta and the palace farm, visit the estate of the cartoonist and have a picnic in the gazebo by the lake.
